If you ever wanted to observe a surface of 1.2 million points in the object viewer, but were afraid your CPU might melt or worse, read this post!

Seriously, that’s 1.2 million points!
How can this be possible, you ask? It’s called “Level of Detail” and you can find the toggle for it below. It’s sort of like a Mr Sid image. If you’re zoomed out, you see only enough data suitable for that zoom level. As you zoom in, more data is displayed in the new zoom window. Pretty cool stuff.
When the toggle is on, it shows up in the new Viewport Control area of your screen.
