Go Out In Style

As cool and as powerful as styles are in Civil3D, there is an ongoing challenge to keep up with what styles affect what objects and which styles are new to each release. As part of a software development project underway, I found myself in the need to have an easy guide of all the styles in Civil3D 2010.

For all of you I took the format a little further and made it look pretty. Come to the ‘other side’ to get the PDF.

The styles are listed as they would appear in your prospector. I listed everything you would see, including items that are technically not styles but are required formatting to have a good template.

New styles for Civil3D 2010 are in Orange.

Thanks Josh…we’ve been talking to Autodesk folks on this side of the country for a couple years about the need for a “Styles Manager”…Lucy Kuhns mentioned that something was in the works at a presentation in Seattle two years ago; I’m hoping that we’ll get this badly needed tool this release cycle as a subscription-based extension…we use lots of styles in our shop, http://www1.co.snohomish.wa.us/Departments/Public_Works/Divisions/Eng/Design_group/CADD_Standards.htm, and collaborate with many consultants…it’s darn hard to keep track of them all.

  8. Brad,

I think the idea of Styles Manager is a great idea. However, what one person has in mind regarding a styles manager is different from another.

If you go to the Civil3D forum and under the ProPack Wishlist describe in detail what you would like to see and we will DEFINITELY look into it.

    Thank You Josh.

Any chance that you could update the list with the new style components – staggered labels for example?
