Hey WAN Guys! Pony up.

I’m hereby offering to test in a controlled environment any network WAN accelerator that will agree to the test. You can have your guy on site, you can tweak and config based on what I throw, but you won’t know what I’m throwing until the day of the tests (hell, I probably won’t either.) Interested, gentlemen? Then read on.

After all the commentary by both Riverbed and Silver Peak, there’s only one way to get a clean answer, and that’s testing in an unbiased environment.

In case you missed it, here are some posts and articles for background:

Basic Setup:

Two machines, with a network nightmare between them, running through a gigabit switch on both ends.

Autocad 2008 and 2009

Civil 3D 2008 and 2009

Vault 2008 and 2009

We’ll test saves, opens, check-in, check-out. Heck, I’ll even let you two argue out the test and agree to it, but it’s time for these companies to pony up, quit talking, and start testing publicly instead of in their own spin control environments.

I’m very interested to see who takes you up on this and how the results come out.
