Detention Basin Volumes (and more!) in Civil 3D

Wouldn’t it be great if you could extract the storage volume of a detention basin directly from your surface in Civil 3D? Wouldn’t it be cool if you could insert a table right into your drawing that shows the elevations, incremental storage volume and cumulative storage volume for your basin? How great would it be to have the ability to create a text file report with the storage information. Well, now you can do all this in Civil 3D.

In our never-ending quest to help you get the most out of Civil 3D, Engineered Efficiency is happy to announce the release of the Stage-Storage Table generator. As part of the EE ProPack, this new add-on extends the powerful Civil 3D grading and surface functionality. The easy-to-use add-on extracts stage (elevation) and area information from any Civil 3D surface and automatically calculates storage volumes. Users can select contour information directly from the screen or manually key in elevation and area data. Calculations are provided using both the Average End Area and the Conical methods. Output options let you create a text file report; insert a table into your drawing; and save the stage storage table for later use. If you get creative, you can even use the application to extract stockpile and berm volumes.
