Without a Net…

Not that I would ever suggest anyone try it, but I’m such a geek, I had to point this out. Peter Funk was kind enough a few weeks back to mention that C3D 2008 will not only not be supported, but will be blocked from installation on Vista 64. Well, given the interest, you had to figure something might happen. Jimmy Bergmark over at JTBWorld mentions a thread in the Adesk groups I’d never have noticed. Using Orca you can apparently hack the .msi to get it installed. I don’t even know if this would work on C3D, but if you’re really interested…

Do it, and you are so in unsupported land, and flying without a net. But a good hack is always worth mention.

Ed: Bryant Quinney of COINS has pulled it off. I haven’t seen the results, but he claims all is well. Still in serious unsupported territory, and if something goes south, you’re on your own.
