What Happened to my Assemblies?

If you are working in Civil 3D 2008 and you open a drawing from an earlier version, sometimes your assemblies look a little funny.

A regen doesn’t fix it… what does?

There may be other ways to snap this assembly back into reality, but I find that all it takes is right-clicking the assembly, going into assembly properties, switching to the construction tab and then. leaving assembly properties.

It also seems that a quick convert to .NET does the trick, too.

A question regarding a similar(?) problem to this.

In ’07 you could copy assemblies and then edit them to your hearts content. In ’08, you cannot do this, it simply copies the assemly line and sends the sub-assembly parts flying. Any workaround suggestions? (the above solution doesn not work.)

  2. Right-click on the parts and select Clear Offsets. It’s tedious, but it works.

This “issue” doesn’t just break assemblies…it breaks my heart. Any mumblings of a service pack?
