Today Beth asked me if a line label like this was possible:
Since I know I have seen this in the default template (like the crow’s feet label) I said sure! It can be done.
But when I sat down to do it, the anchor points that I was looking for weren’t an option. For some reason I was expecting to have start and end as anchor choices.
So I dug into one of those default crow’s feet styles and saw that the DIRECTION ARROW must magically attach to the start and end.
So if you add a visibility FALSE direction arrow, and then attach your text to the start and end of the direction arrow- you get the desired result.Â
The example shown here is a General Line Label, but it also works for parcel segments and other labels that include this same collection of elements.
