I always had a problem when I needed to add additional alignment segments in front of station zero. Sure, the curves worked out fine, but tangents never seemed to want to give me what I needed…. I would wind up reversing the alignment, adding segments to the “end” then re-reversing the alignment to get station zero back where I needed it.
This seemed to be more of an issue when I was making transition alignments and my corridor was already dependant on the direction of the stationing.Â
However, last week, one of the Autodesk folks showed me what I was missing. The key is not to pick the tangent start point from Station 0+00. Pick it to END at Station 0+00
